GARY MEGSON is delighted his team have given themselves the advantage in the race for Premier League survival but insists the job is not done yet and the team are now focused on Chelsea on Sunday.

Wanderers moved up to 36 points at the weekend with a 2-0 victory over Sunderland at the Reebok and now face the Blues on the final day of the season knowing that they are all but safe in the battle for Premier League safety.

"We've given ourselves a great chance of staying up but we haven't guaranteed that, everybody's got to realise that the job's not done yet," said Megson.

"In terms of preparation, we'll do everything the same as we've done in the past, we're fully aware of the team that we're playing and the position they are in, and we're fully aware of the position we're in."

Megson says he knows that results in other games at the weekend can seal his team's fate as well as that of Chelsea but he insists Bolton will be going to Stamford Bridge looking to seal their own fate and get at least a point but he knows it will be difficult.

"They've got some of the best players in the world assembled down there, Abramovich has come in with his multi-millions and I think it's raised the level for everybody not just the teams that they are competing with."

"Results elsewhere will play a part but it doesn't matter, even if we didn't need any points from the game, I expect us to play properly and to compete, I expect us to put a foot in and not short change the people who are going down there."

In terms of his squad selection for the trip to London, Megson admitted he was hoping to see the return of at least two of his players to contention.

"I'm hopeful that Ivan will be alright for Sunday, I'm hopeful that Joey will be better for it as well."
