Megson: I Want Dioufy To Stay
GARY MEGSON hasn't given up hope of seeing El-Hadji Diouf don the Wanderers shirt next season.
The Senegalese frontman recently declared his desire to move onto pastures new, but the Wanderers boss insists that he wants to keep the African ace for his side's eighth successive Premier League campaign.
Megson said: "He's made this statement about this being his last season.
"But he's a great character and I know him well enough to say one thing one minute and another thing the next.
"I don't want him to go anywhere but having said that, if somebody does come in for him they're going to have to pay a lot of money to get him."
The former Liverpool star netted the opening goal in the decisive victory over Sunderland at the Reebok Stadium and is a firm fans' favourite with the Reebok Stadium faithful.
Megson added: "He's got six goals this season, but I think he's capable of getting way more than that.
"It's not a done deal that he will be going and there have to be a lot of things that trigger that.
"I don't want him to go but if he does then it will be the best for Bolton and nothing else - and we'll make sure we get a good fee for him."
Meanwhile, Mikel Alonso, Danny Guthrie and Grzegorz Rasiak, who have all been on loan at the Club, will return to Real Sociedad, Liverpool and Southampton respectively.
