The Paris-born Ivory Coast international had been a long-term target for the Club but Wanderers finally got their man in the summer of 2006 when the 26 year-old arrived at the Reebok Stadium on a four-year deal.
The solid central defender, who was voted the Club's best newcomer by supporters, made 40 appearances in all competitions, including one goal in the FA Cup against Arsenal.
His valuable experience with Marseille in the French league will help Wanderers in their UEFA Cup campaign.
