The 25 year-old vied with Ian Walker for a place on the bench, as Jussi Jaaskelainen proved once again to be the main man.
The goalkeeper had the distinction of being the first Omani footballer to sign for a Premier League football club when he arrived at the Reebok Stadium in January 2006, having signed a pre-contract agreement with the Club in the summer of 2005.
The 6ft 4ins tall goalkeeper was recruited from Norwegian outfit FC Lyn Oslo having earned rave reviews in the Scandinavian country.
