Andy O'Brien signed a two-year contract, with an option for a third year during the summer of 2007.
The 29 year-old centre-half joined Wanderers from Portsmouth for an undisclosed fee.
O'Brien, a Republic of Ireland international, previously played for Bradford City and Newcastle United before moving to Fratton Park in the summer of 2005.
